Main tasks:
- conducting original research in the field of Computational Political Science with a focus on big data (e.g. text data, image data, video data, social media data, or geolocation data);
- employing innovative methods (such as network analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, or text mining) and/or developing new methods;
- participating in the activities of the Digital Science Center (DiSC) and other research areas and research centers of the University of Innsbruck, in particular the research area “Economy, Politics, and Society (EPoS)”;
- teaching courses on Computational Political Science in the BA, MA, and PhD programs in Political Science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences as well as in the Digital Science Center program and in other study programs at the University of Innsbruck;
- teaching and supervising theses;
- participating in (inter)national professional networks in political science (e.g. ÖGPW, ECPR, EPSA);
- contributing to academic administration.
